Cruises For Dummies
So there I was punching up the numbers on the cell phone hoping to connect with
the reservationist who would book my wife and I the dream cruise of a life time.
The cruise ship rep was friendly, fast and efficient in reserving cabin
accomodations aboard the luxurious ocean liner christened the "Pacific Jewel".
We were so excited as we made the necessary preparations to leave jobs and home
to embark on one of those great cruises
you hear everyone talking about. So with bags packed and itinerary in hand, my
precious and I boarded the Pacific Jewel.
What a cruising paradise! The liner was beyond plush with it's elaborate cabins,
exquisitely catered cuisine of every desirable palate, and proficiently
courteous crew and staff. Never having been on a cruise before we didn't know
about the internal layout of such a vessel. On the deck flooring of every tier of the ship there is a raised portion of
flooring clearly visible to the eye in which you have to step up to pass over.
Well as we boarded we didn't see it, thus the wife and I came a-tumbling down!
After recomposing ourselves and brushing off our embarrasment with laughter, we
vowed to be more cautious in our stepping thereafter.
